Artist's Description
One of the wilderness gems of the Arkansas Ozarks is the Lost Valley State Park. A deep rocky valley with waterfalls, caves, springs, boulder the size of houses and giant hardwood trees. It is located at the very head of the Buffalo National River near Ponca, Arkansas. Once a home to native Americans over a thousand years ago. Cob cave was a year-round dry shelter perfect for the Indians to live.
Based on a photo from one of my trips in the late 1960’s, In this painting you see the Natural Bridge entrance to Lost Valley with a 15 ft waterfall flowing out of it. The natural bridge entrance is about fifty feet deep and takes you into the heart of Lost Valley.
