Tafoni Pockets are a common sight along the California Coast, but on Pebble Beach they were filled with incredible colorful, bean-sized stones. These polished pebbles are the "Jewels of the Ocean". The pockets themselves are formed by erosion of softer rocks forming the pocket the traps the pebbles creating interesting rock formations
