Description

The Old funnel is part of my series of drawings and paintings, "Relics of the Industrial Age". My palette and the style is influenced by the still life art of the Italian painter Giorgio Morandi, famous for his simple paintings of everyday objects.

My drawings in pencil, pen and ink, markers and watercolor are most often studies I created prior to creating a final painting in oil or acrylic. This gives me the opportunity to try out ideas and play around with the compositions. In some cases the simple black and white art works are more interesting than the final painting.
