Description

Louisiana is a great site to draw and paint. The swamps and bayous make especially good subject matter. I came across this scene near Alexandra, LA not far from the Mississippi River.

My drawings in pencil, pen and ink, markers and watercolor are most often studies I created prior to creating a final painting in oil or acrylic. This gives me the opportunity to try out ideas and play around with the compositions. In some cases the simple black and white art works are more interesting than the final painting.
